Ollie is a 9 year old fawn neutered male and had a yeast infection. He had one eye with severe glaucoma that had to be removed. He came through the surgery well and has adapted to one eye. His skin has also healed and is in fine shape. At some point in his life he has had a spinal or hip injury. We had him looked at by an orthopedic surgeon to see if surgery was called for and she didn’t think surgery would be beneficial. He at times walks pretty good and at times (especially if he gets excited) he will go “flop butt” and drag his legs behind him. Generally after a couple minutes when he calms down a little, the use of the legs comes back. He also gets along well with all our dogs and the cats. His potty habits are not as stellar but the accidents are sporadic. Sometimes he can manage the stairs at our home and other times he needs to be carried up and down. He is also very loving and likes to get petted and snuggled. He likes to snuggle on the bed. With his history of eye problems he has been getting cyclosporine drops morning and night as well which he will have to have for the rest of his life. He tested heartworm negative and has been on preventative. He is up to date on all his shots.
Ollie is in Hospice care now thanks to his foster family. He will be well loved and cared for for the rest of his years and we hope there are many!
